The meeting was called to order by President Jackie Smart at 5:00 p.m. at Richard’s Family Restaurant.
Jackie had word from Susie Miller (absent) that she recommends Elaine Opper, a Garden City High School teacher for membership. Members present voted on the recommendation and it was passed unanimously.
The slate of officers for 2000-2002 were presented as follows:
President: Grace Morgan
1st Vice-President: Judy Kolassa
2nd Vice-President: Judi Fisher
Corresponding Secretary: Bonnie Franka/ Joan Murray will share the responsibility
Recording Secretary: Carol Holland
Nominations Chairman: Judy Handley
Four beginning teachers will receive $25.00 gift certificates for school supplies. They are:

Judge Gail McKnight of Westland was our speaker for the evening. She talked about "Violence in the Schools". Judge McKnight is a member of the National Association of Women Judges.
