"Eat Smart"

As you get older, it’s smart to eat smaller meals to help keep excess weight off, finds a new Tufts University study. That’s because after eating a large 1,000 calorie meal the fat burning ability of women over the age of 60 was 30% lower than women in their 20s.

That’s not good because you want to get rid of the fat. What’s not burned is stored as body fat. The study discovered that older women could burn off smaller 250 and 500 calorie meals as efficiently as younger women.

The solution is to eat frequent, smaller meals and exercise, which may increase metabolism.
