Meet Mary Foster

Mary Foster is this month's M.O.M. Mary was initiated into Delta Kappa Gamma in 1990. Mary jumped right in and has been on many committees. She is currently Gamma Alpha's Recording Secretary. This is her second biennium for this role. She is also on the Birthday Dinner committee.

Mary grew up in Detroit and attended Wayne State University. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from WSU.

Mary has taught for 26 years in Livonia Public Schools. She has worn many teaching hats during her career. Mary has taught elementary general education and middle school special education. She has been a learning specialist and a resource room teacher. Mary has even taught one general education Science class! Presently, Mary is teaching at Riley Middle School in a special education Center Program. Mary enjoys the teaming aspect of the Center Program.

Mary is married and has two young children, ages 8 and 11. Both of her children were born in South Korea. Mary enjoys doing activities with her family. The Fosters enjoy camping, cross-country skiing, biking, and swimming. As a family they try to cram in a much "fun stuff" as they possibly can during Mary and her husband's precious "free time".
